Andy Martin

Andy was a very bad drummer, but he did have some drums. Andy carried a hammer with him for a period. He did not do tricks with it like Neal Cassady, but did threaten to hit you with it. Andy was a punk and he would make me listen to bands like the Dickies or Leyton Buzzards or early Toya. He seems to be credited on all our released collections, but I think he only played on one track, 'Jeremiad'. Maybe he's in there somewhere on 'No Hidden Extras'. Both on Video Rideo. (Gerard)

Memory fades, memory gains. Andy was not on "No Hidden Extras". But he did develop into a menace with the hammer. However, I am now rather a fan of Toyah's early material, particularly Ieya. GG, 06/10/26
